Coffee Grinders

Grinding your own coffee beans is an excellent way to guarantee that your coffee stays as flavorsome as possible. However it is important to grind the coffee beans correctly.

Depending on how you will be making you coffee will determine the amount of grinding the coffee beans need.
If you will be brewing your coffee with a percolator you will need a coarser than normal grind. Put the coffee beans in to the grinder and tap the grind button a couple of times. The aim is to gently break the beans up so that they are small, but not yet powder. If they begin to look like a powder, then you have gone too far. Remember to tap the button on the grinder, don't hold it down.

Automatic drip coffee makers should be used with medium ground coffee beans. A medium grind is what you would normally buy from the supermarket. While pressing the grinder button, don't get too zelous and over grind your coffee beans. You don't want a fine powder if you're using an automatic coffee maker.

Lastly if you are using an espresso maker, you will want to grind the beans in to a fine powder. So this time you can grind away with no problem at all.
